To provide a product that is safe to the consumer,
To provide a product that is legal,
To consistently meet our customers requirements for service and
To strive to exceed our customers expectation of quality wherever possible.
To accomplish this:
Safety
We will only source product that has been grown in accordance with Good Agricultural Practice and from Growers that are registered with Assured Produce and whom adhere to the NFU – Retailer Integrated Crop Management (ICM) Protocol.
We will ensure that all produce has been grown with due regard to the Code of Practice for the Safe Use of Pesticides on Farms and Holdings (MAFF 1998).
We will ensure all product has been packed in line with current Government Legislation including the Food Safety Act 1990, in a customer approved packhouse, holding a current BRC certificate.
We undertake to carry out a comprehensive residue analysis programme based on risk assessment and to review this annually.
Quality
We recognise that our ability to deliver quality is dependent upon the close working relationship we maintain with our growers, whom form part of the quality chain.
We undertake therefore to maintain careful and systematic monitoring of these activities with the close co-operation of our growers and packhouses.
We undertake to provide a dedicated Quality Control Team to inform and advise growers and packhouses upon quality matters in order to maintain and improve upon the overall quality of our produce on which our reputation has been built and depends on in the future.
To maintain and improve upon the overall quality of our produce and systems, Norman Collett Management and Technical Teams will hold annual Quality Review meetings where aims and objectives will be set and minuted.
