Two Kent teams have gone head-to-head in an against-the-clock cook-off competition to create a giant apple and blackberry crumble.

Fourayes Farm and Norman Collett's crumble was five times heavier than the largest fruit crumble previously recorded by Guiness World Records.
To compliment the giant dessert, 16 litres of custard were also made.
Both crumble and custard were later distributed amongst the homeless of Maidstone.
The pudding was filmed for the TV programme, Monster Munchies, as they challenged people to make monster meals. Brogdale Farm, the home of the national fruit collection, was chosen as the host location for the giant dessert competition.
Team Fourayes and Norman Collett was up against Scott Anderson Ltd in the race to create a dish that impressed judges across the key criteria of size, presentation and taste in just 24 hours.
The 5,000 Bramleys apples were picked in Sittingbourne, and once cooked, weighed 750kg.
Five local experts were called in to be on the judging panel and former England rugby player and well-known foodie, Matt Dawson, took charge as presenter of the show.
Fourayes, a family business is the UK's largest apple processing company and Norman Collett Limited specialises in marketing English top fruit.
Monster Munchies, is broadcast on weeknights at 10pm from Monday 8 November on Good Food (Sky Channel 249, Sky HD 283 and Virgin TV Channel 260). |
